Sebastian & Grace's wedding on 22/11/2008

Warning, this post will be rather large with lots of pictures. Expect slower load times.

Finally, the big day has arrived. Sebestian (still not used to calling him by that name) is getting married to his sweetheart Grace. After many years of courtship, they can now tie the knot and become husband and wife.

Let's start off with...

Ok it's gonna be messy if I start throwing pictures just like that. So I'm going to do it in categories.

The Couple

Oct 31, Celebrated my 22nd birthday. Went to Genting with my girl because we have the vouchers for free rooms and I get free entrance ticket to the theme park (boy we're cheap :p)

Lets start of with the model of the day:

Here we go round and round, round the merry go round.

Dropped by Maredo while on the way back from Genting for dinner. It's an Argentinian steakhouse located in Bangsar, along Jalan Telawi 5.

Started off with Bruchetta (RM 14). Large size with loads of tomatoes, feta cheese and quail eggs.

Squid Rings (RM 9). Quite a large serving considering that it's a tapas dish. Tapas are appetizer dishes in Spanish. Crunchy outside, juicy inside.

Eggplant with pepperoni and smoked cheese (RM 9). The think slices of pepperoni overwhelmed the other flavors. With a piece of bread is the way to eat it.

My main course. Ribeye steak with wild mushrooms (RM 55), mashed potatoes and chimichurri sauce. Absolutely heavenly. Meat is medium rare and well aged. No red juices flowing on the plate as it has been well rested before serving. Chimichurri sauce provides an extra dimension to the meat.

The lady ordered the Pan Seared Black Cod with prawns, sliced potatoes and zuchinni (RM 44). Absolutely loved the sun dried tomato sauce. Very light and refreshing.

Dinner ended with the house specialty. Tiramisu (RM 14) which was served in a long dish, not the customary bowl. Light, lots of alcohol and espresso. Thumbs up.

The whole dinner costs around RM 180 for 2. Thanks dear for the wonderful meal. :)

It's been awhile since my last update and quite a bit has happened. Finally found time to sit down, select the few good pics and edit them. This time, I'm trying some new techniques with Lightroom 2 and Photoshop CS3. Having both programs integrated together is so useful.

Sony Alpha Convention 2008

The convention took place on the 10th to 12th Oct at Le Meridian Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

There were three bikes on display there, well if you don't count the one in the room. 2 beautiful Harleys and a stunning Ducati. Hard to get a good shot as everyone is pushing to shoot those models.

Sigh, a beautiful (the bike of course) Harley Davidson cruiser.

Another Harley. This one cost around RM 140k if i'm not wrong. See the huge engine and beautiful chrome lines.

Ducati 1098s Superbike. 1099cc of pure racing goodness. 0-100km in 2.5 sec anyone? Definitely will make your most exciting day feel boring. Gawd i do love the brilliant red color and sexy twin exhaust (and no, there's no hidden meaning to it).

Saw this beautiful skylight while walking back to the carpark. Purposely underexpose the buildings to get a nice contrast with the blue sky and the light rays.

Oh yea, before i sign off, you can now actually park for free at KL Sentral. Just head down the ramp to the huge parking lot opposite the LCCT bus terminal (where all the LCCT bus is). The parking lot used to be a Metro parking space but now it's vacant. It's FREE to park there. I don't know how long that will last though.

MIFC

It's been quite a few weeks after the MIFC ended and i only found the time to post this up. Been very busy running so many things at once. Enjoy this firework series.

By the way, this series is from Team China and taken directly from PICC viewing the bridge.

Oh, the highlight of the show. Hearts exploding from shells. I did manage to capture one shot with a heart shape after many shots.

Eventful Saturday

Woke up early morning to attend the Sony Alpha Seminar at Le'Meridian Hotel KL.

Realized that most of my shots were under-exposed. Seems that I've turned my LCD screen brightness up a notch too high. Anyway here's a decent one in the collection.

After the magnificent lunch..

Sony does organize lots of events and activities for their customers. Great marketing strategy and a good way to build customer loyalty. ALPHA!!!

After the seminar, went to Mid Valley to meet up with my Malacca friends who were having a gathering there. The sad news is, my phone got nicked while on the train. Sigh, Malaysians will just be Malaysians.

All in all, it was a pretty sad day. I lost my phone, all my contacts, all my data on it. To make matters worst, I have to spend money again to buy another phone.

A Zoo-ey day.

Gah, Malacca is so boring. Haha, cept for the food of course.

Went to the zoo today for some snapshots. The last time i step into the zoo was like 8 or 9 years ago. Man..

Here's some of them which i considered the best of the shots i took. Took hundreds of shots, but most of them were not to par due to the lens limitation. Oh yea, met an uncle who is using Alpha 350 with a Sigma 70-300mm. ^.^ The lens is friggin long.

Eyes of an orphan

This was taken at a visit to an orphanage during the games time. On their faces, we see laughter and happiness. But deep in their eyes, you see the sadness of being left alone, longing for the love which can never be replaced.

An unfair world perhaps, but one which we have to live in. Truly, are they so different from us?
